We’re excited to unveil Harmony – a new project from MusicFutures exploring the convergence of music and games.

As both industries continue to evolve, new opportunities are emerging at their intersection. Harmony is focused on unlocking this potential – enhancing player experiences through deeper integration of music within games, while also supporting music creators to break into the games space in more meaningful and impactful ways.

Why Harmony, Why Now?

Music has always played a powerful role in games – setting tone, driving emotion, and shaping identity. But we are now entering a new era where music is becoming more deeply embedded in interactive experiences themselves.

This raises a series of big questions: How can we simplify music licensing in games? How can we better connect music and gameplay? And how do we unlock new ways for music creators to break into the games space?

Harmony seeks to explore these challenges, building on the momentum across both industries to help define what comes next.

Industry Surveys: We Want to Hear From You

As part of this work, we are launching two targeted surveys:

• One for the music industry
• One for the gaming industry

We are inviting professionals across both sectors to take part and share their knowledge, experiences, and insights. Your input will be essential in helping us understand where the real opportunities lie, as well as the barriers that currently exist between these two creative worlds.

• Industry Hackathon – A hands-on event bringing together music and games professionals to collaborate on innovative, real-world solutions.
• Funding Call – A wider funding opportunity designed to support bold projects operating at the intersection of music and gaming.
