MusicSeen Hub: Connecting Venues & Fans

19th Oct 2026

MusicSeen is building on its existing platform and music data to develop an interactive local music discovery infrastructure for Liverpool’s live music scene – a platform that helps audiences find events, connecting artist, venue and event data with personalised recommendations and audience insight. The project responds to a gap in the city’s ecosystem: Liverpool has a rich and vibrant live music offer, but it is still fragmented across multiple websites, ticketing platforms, social feeds and venue channels, making it hard for fans to discover the full breadth of what is happening.

The R&D project combines music discovery with safer, more accessible, and sustainable journey planning in a single audience experience. MusicSeen is developing the event and recommendation layer, using live music data from across the city to surface relevant events, nearby opportunities, and personalised suggestions and the partner on the project, You. Smart. Thing. is leading the journey-planning layer, bringing expertise in accessibility, multimodal routing, and low-carbon travel. Together, the two partners are prototyping a web app that connects discovery, access, and attendance in one place.

The system is designed to do more than list events. It aims to help people move from finding an artist online to actually getting to the venue, with route guidance, safer travel options and contextual information that supports confident decision-making. The project will also test how audience behaviour, location and engagement data can improve recommendations and reveal how people discover and attend live music.

For venues, promoters and artists, MusicSeen offers a new channel for visibility and insight. Better event aggregation and personalised recommendations could increase attendance, support ticket sales and help smaller venues and emerging artists reach new audiences. For Liverpool’s wider music ecosystem, the project has the potential to become a scalable discovery and audience-intelligence tool that strengthens connections between artists, venues, fans and the city’s transport network.

Built from real-world need and grounded in existing MusicSeen infrastructure, the project is a practical step toward a more joined-up, accessible and resilient live music experience.

The MusicSeen project is one of six SME-led projects awarded funding from the MusicFutures Innovation Funding Call to develop and scale new products, services or experiences across the music sector in the Liverpool City Region.
